Woodford Madeira Cask Finish Bourbon Whiskey

Woodford Reserve’s barrel finishing philosophy is designed to highlight the inherent character of its complex whiskies—enhancing rather than altering their flavor. For the 2024 Master’s Collection, Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall explored finishing bourbon, rye, and wheat whiskies in Madeira casks, resulting in distinctly fruit-forward expressions.

Sourced from the Madeira Islands off the coast of Portugal, these casks impart rich notes of dried fruit, spice, and toasted nuts from the fortified wine they once held. To further elevate these characteristics, the Madeira-finished whiskies were blended with Woodford Reserve’s fruit-forward Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey.

The result is a harmonious expression that amplifies vibrant fruit and floral notes, culminating in this year’s Master’s Collection release: Woodford Reserve Madeira Cask Finish.
