WhistlePig Rye Whiskey Double Malt 18 Years Old

Dave Pickerell founded WhistlePig with a vision to create the world’s finest and most distinctive rye whiskeys. After years dedicated to careful aging and innovative blending, the focus turned to grain experimentation—reviving the traditional practice of malting rye.

Before modern methods improved efficiency, distillers malted a portion of their rye to unlock its starches and initiate fermentation, imparting floral and earthy nuances to rye’s signature bold spice. Drawing on this heritage, WhistlePig crafted its oldest expression using a mash bill of 79% rye, 15% malted rye, and 6% malted barley.

The result is a beautifully balanced whiskey—soft and floral, rich and savory, yet layered with spice—its complexity deepened through 18 years of aging in the barrel.
