Hakushu 12 Year Old Single Malt Japanese Whisky

Crafted at Suntory’s mountain distillery, Hakushu 12 Year Single Malt is a gently smoky, herbal whisky with a fresh and lively character. Distinctive among single malts, its crisp profile awakens the senses with bright notes and subtle complexity.

The aroma is light yet smoky, featuring hints of basil, pine needles, and green apple. On the palate, it reveals flavors of sweet pear, mint, and kiwi, leading into a softly woody finish accented by green tea and delicate smoke.

Born from the pristine forests, mountains, and pure waters of the Southern Japanese Alps, Hakushu embodies a clean, vibrant style. It can be enjoyed neat, over ice, or with water (Mizuwari).

The distillery was established in 1973 by Keizo Saji, who carried forward his father’s spirit of innovation, building Hakushu in the forested foothills of Mt. Kaikomagatake—half a century after Suntory’s first distillery.
