Project Highlight: Tito’s Vodka with a Chalkboard Heart

A lasting engraving. A message you can change. For this project, we personalized a Tito’s Handmade Vodka bottle with an engraved heart design and a special chalkboard paint finish—giving it a space to write, erase, and write again.

Designed for Chalk

We created this unique heart design specifically for a chalkboard finish, leaving a large, open center with enough room to write a message by hand. Botanical sprigs frame the heart, while “Made with Love” and “Allie & Josh” are engraved beneath it.

Not every engraving design works well with chalkboard paint. Small shapes, narrow lettering, and intricate patterns can leave too little usable space for writing. Here, we planned the design around that space from the start, keeping the decorative details outside the writable heart.

The result combines lasting personalization with a message you can change—a meaningful date, a short love note, or something playful for the occasion.

From Design to Bottle

We brought the design to life by engraving the heart, botanical details, and personalized lettering directly into the glass. Then we applied black chalkboard paint inside the heart to create the writable surface.

The finished bottle pairs the detail of the engraving with a bold black heart, ready for a handwritten message.

Write. Erase. Repeat.

A meaningful date, a short love note, or a playful phrase can all fit inside the heart. Write your message with chalk, erase it when you’re ready, and add something new.

We tried several versions during our photo session, from a handwritten date to “Drunk in Love” and “Love on the Rocks.” Each gives the same bottle a different personality, while the engraving underneath keeps the design personal.

What makes this piece special

The most meaningful part of this design is that it invites someone to keep adding to it. A note written today can become a different message tomorrow. The bottle holds the names, while the handwriting captures a moment.

That gives the piece a life beyond its first presentation. It can become a small place for shared messages—something personal to display and return to, even after the original occasion has passed.

A special finish for a unique project

Chalkboard paint isn’t one of our standard personalization options. For this project, it gave us a creative way to combine permanent engraving with a message that can change.

It’s also an example of why we enjoy exploring ideas beyond our everyday designs. A unique finish or an unexpected detail can make a personalized bottle feel even more individual.
